2. How We Use Your Information
We use personal information only for the following purposes:
- Information you submit through our forms is used only to respond to your request. We use contact form information to answer your inquiry; warranty request information to process your warranty claim, repair, replacement, or return; and newsletter sign-up information only to send you the quarterly updates you asked for. We do not use form information for any other purpose, and we do not add people who submit contact or warranty requests to our mailing list.
- Where needed to respond to your request, such as a warranty return, we may share the relevant details with the authorized distributor or dealer you purchased from.
- Information collected automatically when you visit the Site is used to operate, maintain, and secure the Site, to detect and prevent spam, fraud, and malicious activity, and, with your consent, to understand how the Site is used so we can improve it.
- Legal purposes: to comply with legal obligations and to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
Legal bases for processing (EEA/UK visitors)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your personal data on the following legal bases:
- Consent – for analytics cookies and our newsletter. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.
- Performance of a contract or steps prior to a contract – to respond to product, warranty, and sales inquiries.
- Legitimate interests – to operate and secure the Site, prevent spam and fraud, and respond to general inquiries, where these interests are not overridden by your rights.
- Legal obligation – where processing is required to comply with applicable law.
3. How We Disclose Your Information
We disclose personal information only as described below:
- Service providers that process information on our behalf under contractual confidentiality and data protection obligations, such as website hosting, email delivery, analytics (Google Analytics), spam protection (Google reCAPTCHA), website security, and data backup providers.
- Authorized distributors and dealers, when needed to respond to your request for product information, sales, warranty, or support.
- Legal and safety purposes: to comply with law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request; to enforce our agreements; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Knight Electronics, our customers, or others.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of all or part of our business, in which case personal information may be transferred to the successor entity subject to this Policy.
- With your consent or at your direction.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral (targeted) advertising, as those terms are defined under applicable U.S. state privacy laws. We have not done so in the preceding 12 months.
4. Data Retention
We keep personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, unless a longer period is required or permitted by law. In general:
- Inquiry and support records: up to 5 years after our last interaction with you, to support ongoing warranty and product-support needs.
- Newsletter subscription data: until you unsubscribe, after which we keep your email address on a suppression list so we do not contact you again.
- Analytics data: up to 14 months, as configured in Google Analytics.
- Security logs: generally up to 90 days.
When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.
5. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We use the following categories. For a full list of the cookies used on the Site, including their purposes and durations, see our Cookie Policy.
- Strictly necessary – enable core Site functions, security, and remembering your cookie preferences. These cannot be turned off. Examples: CookieYes consent cookies; DataDome bot-protection cookies.
- Functional and performance – enable features such as embedded YouTube videos and help them load reliably. Set only with your consent. Examples: YouTube player cookies.
- Analytics – help us understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve it. Set only with your consent. Examples: Google Analytics (_ga, _ga_<ID>).
- Advertisement – we do not use advertising cookies for our own marketing, but YouTube (Google) may set advertising cookies when you play an embedded video. Set only with your consent.
- Security / anti-spam – protect our forms from spam and abuse. Example: Google reCAPTCHA.
When you first visit the Site, a cookie banner lets you accept, reject, or customize non-essential cookies. You can change your choices at any time using the cookie settings option on the Site, and you can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect Site functionality.
Google Analytics and reCAPTCHA. Information collected by these tools is processed by Google under its Privacy Policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. reCAPTCHA use is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
Embedded videos and social media links. Some pages include embedded YouTube videos. These are blocked until you accept the relevant cookie categories; once you do, YouTube may set cookies and collect information about your viewing under Google's Privacy Policy. The Site also links to our pages on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube. We do not place those platforms' tracking pixels on the Site. If you click through to those platforms, their own privacy policies apply.
Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track. We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising where required by law. Because no uniform standard exists for browser "Do Not Track" signals, we do not respond to them separately.

Knight Electronics is based in the United States, and the Site is hosted in the United States. If you access the Site from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate, which may have data protection laws different from those in your country.
